Mouse and Garden (Ace)

3:08: Sylvester and Sam Cat, while dreaming, seemingly share the same dream. Sylvester hurts him in the dream and Sam seems to feel it in real life

Mice Follies:

4:01: Ralph the mouse is split into four even pieces and falls over looking completely inanimate. His friend tells him to “pull himself together” and then he appears as normal, just looking frazzled. Regen happens off-camera

The Dixie Fryer:

4:42: After getting his feathers blown off by a tornado, Foghorn Leghorn pulls out a container labeled “ACME Instant Feathers.” It resembles a one-piece suit but when put on it becomes his feathers.

Hopalong Casualty:

0:47: Wile E. Coyote grabs the Roadrunner by the neck, the two spinning around for a moment. However, it appears that the Roadrunner slipped out of his grip without him noticing, as he is now merely holding a Roadrunner-shaped smoke cloud. The Roadrunner appears behind him and beep-beeps before running away.

1:00: Wile E. Coyote is so startled by a beep-beep that he jumps with enough force to pull the telephone pole out of the ground with him. The telephone pole somehow flies into the air faster than him so it smashes him into the ground upon landing; he then is seen climbing out of a nearby manhole in a flattened form.

High Note:

The short depicts musical notes as having sentience, further adding to the idea of inanimate entities possessing a will of their own. Musical notes are capable of getting drunk and feeling a variety of emotions, also morphing into things such as dogs or lassos.

Lighter Than Hare:

5:30: Bugs Bunny improvises two robots based on stuff he has lying around in his hole, calling it “war surplus stuff.” He also has a radio that can pick up conversations from other planets.

Zip n Snort:

0:30: Wile E. Coyote actually stands and points at his subtitle, again showing an example of being able to move during the Latin captions which are supposed to freeze time. (Although this time the captions don’t appear mid-run but while he’s merely standing in the road.)

The Rebel without Claws:

Notable because we see Sylvester actually get shot and die, losing one of his nine lives, showing once again that Looney Tunes firearms are capable of killing one of a Toon cat’s lives (if not just killing all nine of them).

The Pied Piper of Guadalupe:

Sylvester is able to play a song on a flute that enchants the mice, showing some sort of demonstration of hypnosis. However, Speedy resists the tune, indicating his resistance.

It seems like it may be more body control, as at the end, the flute is played and causes Sylvester to be unable to resist trying to dance despite being in a body cast.

What’s My Lion?

Elmer Fudd has mounted animals on his walls and is out hunting; at the end of the cartoon, when hunting season is over, the mounted animals (that were presumably taxidermied) spring to life and run out of his house. This supports the idea of Toon Immortality.

The Last Hungry Cat

Sylvester reacts to the Hitchcockian narrator and mocks them. At the end, Sylvester ends up knocking the narrator of the story (who was a bear) unconscious with a brick due to irritation at their continued narrating.

Mexican Boarders:

Slowpoke Rodriguez successfully hypnotizes Sylvester to do their bidding.

Good Noose:

Daffy Duck is locked inside of a box for ten days and it doesn’t seem to impact him physically or mentally (not that he’s all there mentally)

Daffy Duck has a rope tied around his neck and is lifted up but does not suffocate.

He ends up blowing up the entire boat that he’s on with explosives but survives, left floating in a barrel.

Martian Through Georgia:

Depicts Martian society as being perfect to the point of being boring to certain Martian citizens, showing how advanced Martians are.

Devil’s Feud Cake:

Yosemite Sam actually goes to Hell after dying and is told by the Devil to go back multiple times to seek Bugs Bunny. However, at the end, Yosemite Sam tells the Devil off and tells him that if he wants Bugs he can get him himself, choosing to stay in Hell (complete with wearing a devil suit and wielding a pitchfork)

The Wild Chase

  • At the end of the cartoon, Sylvester and Wile both are blasted into the sky and explode into fireworks. We can more or less gauge that they exploded into nothingness. It seems easy to indicate from this cartoon their durability is roughly equal.

Moby Duck

  • While mostly a recycled bit from a previous cartoon regarding a can opener being withheld from someone desperate to open some canned goods, the ending shows Daffy Duck gain a bout of physical prowess as he swims off the desert island and to the horizon.

Assault and Peppered

  • Daffy Duck uses a telescope to spy on Speedy’s top-secret war plans, having extended it all the way through his window and over his shoulder. Somehow Speedy poking the lens of the telescope acts as if he has poked Daffy’s eye, causing genuine pain.

  • Daffy fires a cannonball at Speedy and he outruns it, having time to stop to open the door for it. The cannonball even follows him back the opposite direction so that he can open Daffy’s door and have the cannonball fly right at him.

  • Daffy is hit by a cannonball that launches him back into his cannon, causing the cannon to fire and launch him back the entire way he came.

Well Worn Daffy

  • Daffy is not able to shoot Speedy with his gun but does shoot the ladle he’s running with full of holes, indicating some sort of reaction time comparable to Speedy’s running speed.

  • Speedy snatches the hose attached to the well and attempts to suck water out from it, but instead, Daffy pops out of the hose still wielding his shotgun. Perhaps an example of body manipulation.

Suppressed Duck

  • A boundary line indicating where hunting is allowed and not allowed physically prevents bullets from passing through despite the line being easily passed through, indicating that the bullets are inclined to follow the rules.

  • Somehow the white line is able to be painted in the air, resulting in Daffy Duck walking off a cliff to sweep the line up and then plummeting.

Corn on the Cop

  • Disguises seem to be able to fool about anybody no matter who pulls them, as a robber is able to dress up as Granny and convince people he actually is her, with cops being on the lookout for a “little old lady” upon his robbery

  • Granny is able to knock Daffy and Porky to the ground by smacking them with her purse, putting her squarely on their level physically.

Rushing Roulette

  • Roadrunner runs through a tunnel then comes back the opposite direction driving a car that he runs Wile E. over with

Run, Run, Sweet Roadrunner

  • Lightning Rod

  • Spiky Trap

Tease for Two

  • The Goofy Gophers are shoved into an empty bucket and then kicked down a hill by Daffy Duck and are perfectly unharmed when they come out.

  • The Gophers demonstrate incredible strength; Daffy Duck attempts to use a fishing lure with a head of lettuce on one end to lure them out but they end up pulling the fishing rod out of his grip. He ties a rope to the fishing line and then ties the other end to a vehicle, driving away… only for the end to become taut and the vehicle to come to a dead stop.

  • Daffy Duck shoves a gun into a hole and the gun appears right behind him; he ties a red ribbon to it and pokes it through and sees the gun behind him with a blue ribbon, thinking it’s a fake… but he fires and he shoots himself, as the Gophers apparently changed the ribbons out. The gophers come out from the bushes, indicating they were responsible for the gun trick.

  • Daffy Duck sticks a water hose into the hole to flush the Gophers out but they plug it up. The hose ends up being backed up with water and inflating until it pops, the blast launching him into space before he falls back down.

Boulder Wham

  • Wile E. Coyote briefly hypnotizes the Roadrunner with the swinging watch trick but accidentally gets himself hypnotized. Roadrunner then commands him to walk forward off the cliff and then stop, after which he falls.

  • Wile E. Coyote masters karate and judo techniques from a book and briefly engages in a fight-cloud with the Roadrunner that ends up with him falling off a cliff again

Just Plane Beep

Go Go Amigo

  • Daffy Duck goes to the radio station and actually stops the music from playing, but can still somehow hear Speedy Gonzalez from the other end of the radio

Chaser on the Rocks

  • Wile E. Coyote counts down to indicate the transition to the next scene at one point

  • Roadrunner somehow drinks from what is just a stick of dynamite painted to look like a drink of lemonade, indicating Wile E.’s paintings being quite magical

  • A water hose fires out water so pressurized that it bores holes through solid rock; Wile E. can just plug it with his finger and is unharmed by being sprayed by it

Squeak in the Deep

  • Twice in short succession, Daffy Duck sinks to the bottom of the ocean and then has to swim his way back up to his boat (which is still continually in motion since they’re in a boat race)

  • Daffy Duck is far ahead in the lead in a race from Guadalajara, Mexico to Hawaii, which is about 3,486 miles or 5 610 kilometers. Wile E. Coyote is confirmed the best racer in Looney Tunes, so he scales above this (though sadly a real unit of time is never given)

Feather Finger

  • Rather than simply dodging it, Speedy Gonzalez grabs onto a bullet as it is fired at him and holds onto it as it travels, eventually bringing it back to Daffy and putting it back in his gun- at which point it fires off in Daffy’s face

  • Daffy Duck is able to light the fuse of a cannon that fires off a giant bullet and then be inside that giant bullet after it has fired in order to pop out and try to grab at Speedy, indicating teleportation or incredible speed

Swing Ding Amigo

  • Daffy reaches his hand through the phone to try to hit Speedy with a mallet on the other side

  • Speedy repeatedly is able to instantly return Daffy’s grenade to him no matter how far Daffy travels by drilling a hole nearby and dropping it- even doing so directly inside his canoe

Taste of Catnip

  • In a bit of a character study, Daffy Duck finds himself beginning to realize something is deeply wrong with him being a duck constantly chasing a mouse, believing that he is turning into a cat. This indicates an awareness on the characters’ parts of what is natural for their characters to do, and straying away from that seems to have psychological impacts. As a result of his continuous chasing of Speedy, he begins to display behaviors such as meowing and being scared of dogs.

  • It turns out that it is not because of his chasing of Speedy in past cartoons but because of him having lethal amounts of catnip in his blood, and he solves this problem by destroying the local catnip factory, ridding himself of cat-like behavior. Later, Speedy comes in complaining of displaying duck-like qualities
